This book was written in english while imprisoned in the Tower of London for refusing to swear to the Act of Succession and the Oath of Supremacy. He was found guilty of treason. Awaiting execution in 1535 for refusing to betray his faith, Thomas Moore opens the door on his own interior life by creating a fictional dialogue. It takes place in 16th century Hungary between a you man, Vincent, and his dying but wise old uncle, Anthony. Saint Thomas More was beheaded a on July 6, 1535.
